Wintertime is here and what better time of year to take some steps towards health and happiness! One way we’re taking 2023 on is by making sure to vitamins, and minerals, exercise (physical or mental), and have a positive mindset!

Vitamins are pretty darn important around these wintertime (well, most of the time) because that’s what helps your body function and keep your immune system in tip-top shape! Vitamin C is especially important during the winter months, there’s a lot of really interesting information on Vitamin C studies that were done in the past and how it relates to your body’s immunity. You can get your daily dose of Vitamin C by eating citrus fruits like oranges and grapefruits, or by taking a supplement (like a certain elderberry + vitamin c + vitamin d gummy, hint, hint click here!).

Vitamin D is kind of a jack-of-all-trades, it’s doing A LOT, but not too much to the point it’s getting annoying, you know what we mean? Yeah, you do. During the winter months, getting Vit D from the sun can sometimes be a rough time with that pesky orbit path, so it’s a good idea to include Vitamin D-rich foods in your diet, there’s natural sources and fortified ones, like cereal or other grains. To fill in any gaps or if you’re deficient in Vitamin D there’s supplements for that too!

We can’t forget about our good friend zinc. Ah, we’ve got some fond memories of ol’ zinc, good times, good times. Good sources of zinc include meat, seafood, beans, and nuts.

But besides the vitamins it's also important to make sure you're getting enough exercise and getting enough sleep, yep, you get that sleep you deserve! Exercise is doing work to boost your immune system and has been shown to improve moods. 30 minutes is a solid target, like brisk walking, every day or less! Don’t feel too stressed because even 10 or minutes can help! And make sure to get plenty of restful sleep, as this is when your body repairs and rejuvenates itself. So, yes, thank you very much I’ll be sleeping in when and where I can!

Don't let the winter blues get you down, we want to see that smile shine through the cloud cover! Let us know how you stay healthy and happy all winter long here on socials!

Stay warm out there!
